The Grand Canyon

You have already learned a lot about the causes and effects of weathering, erosion and deposition. The Grand Canyon is a great example of all 3 of these forces in action. How do you think it was formed? What do you think happened to all the material that once filled this canyon that is 277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide?

 

To help you get an understanding of this awesome natural wonder of the world, watch these videos. The first gives good background information, the second explains the formation of the canyon and the last is a flight over the canyon showing different areas of it.
